Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.
Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin p. 39
"He brought a lantern, and thought as he led the mule up the hill: What if they were unfamiliar with lanterns and burned down the cabin in the middle of the night? He thought he should try to explain the mechanics of the lantern but could not imagine such a conversation."
It was hard to find a good teaser this week because the sentences in the book are all so short! While they do give you an idea of the tone of the book because that is a part of it, it doesn't give you much. I found this longer one on the pages I opened to and while not much is going on, the man seems to be somewhat worried about these girls, but not enough to overcome his aversion to talking to them. I am confused about their relationship but also intrigued.
